For Phishing Victims

If you've been duped into giving out your credit, debit, or ATM card number, or your bank account number, report the theft to your bank immediately, then cancel your account and open a new one. Contact one of the three and ask them to place an initial fraud alert on your accounts, which will ensure creditors contact you before extending credit. Then be sure to review your account statements carefully over the next few months.

If the phisher tricked you into handing over your social security number or other personally identifying information, then you're at great risk for identity theft. Visit our Identity Theft page for steps to take to limit your exposure.
